Ultrasonic Liquid Level Indicator

The simplest and cost-effective solution to verify your agent storage contents

Verifying the liquid level inside halocarbon fire extinguishing cylinders can often require expensive and heavy equipment, intervention of outsourced expert services, or system decommissioning. To support faster and more straightforward inspections, Viking has developed the Ultrasonic Liquid Level Indicator — a compact device that allows users to check agent storage contents easily and in a cost-effective manner, without dismantling equipment or interrupting operations. Designed for a variety of cylinder types and suppression agents, it provides a practical solution for routine maintenance and verification tasks.

    Specifications and functions

The device uses an ultrasonic sensor to easily detect the liquid level inside the cylinder. After applying a small amount of coupling gel, the user places the sensor onto the cylinder surface. An LED immediately lights up when placed at or below the liquid level, and will switch off when placed above.

    • Operating temperature range: 0 °C to +50 °C
    • Approved cylinder diameter: 406 mm
    • Cylinder size range: 80 L up to 180 L.
    • Compatible agents:  FK-5-1-12 and HFC-227ea
    • Fill range:
      • FK-5-1-12: 40 to 216 kg
      • HFC-227ea: 60 to 205 kg
