Supporting a Fluorine-Free project at the port of Antwerp
Viking EMEA has recently installed a FM approved, fluorine-free fire protection system in the Port of Antwerp, one of the Europe’s largest maritime logistics platforms.
The Port of Antwerp stands as a key logistical hub at the heart of Europe, handling vast volumes of goods and industrial activity. With safety and sustainability as top priorities, Viking EMEA recently supported its partner, EEG GROUP, in delivering a fluorine-free, FM Approved fire protection system for project in the port.
Viking’s role in this project
This project demonstrates a shared commitment to environmentally responsible fire protection while ensuring compliance with FM Approvals Standard 5130 for Foam Extinguishing Systems. Viking EMEA’s role included:
- Advising on the optimal foam density and type based on safety data sheets and system compatibility.
- Supplying FM Approved Viking ARK alcohol-resistant fluorine-free foam, meeting the viscosity requirements of the FireDos proportioning system.
- Delivering foam and foam hardware tested together to meet FM Approval standards.
- Supporting design-related queries from FM.
- Assisting with commissioning through our technical partner.
