3 Days at Intersec Dubai

Colleagues from across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East have just returned from Intersec Dubai, three days fully dedicated to Viking’s product lines (water, water mist, foam, gas, and detection & control), their latest developments, and discussions with customers to support upcoming projects.

Once again, Intersec Dubai confirmed its role as a key meeting point for the fire protection industry. This year, Viking was present with a well-positioned booth in the Fire & Rescue Hall, showcasing both established solutions and new developments.

Among the flagship products on display were the EconAqua nozzle, which delivers the same performance as conventional sprinkler while using up to 85% less water, and OXEO, the inert gas system designed for the protection of sensitive equipment, among others. Seminars: practical insights beyond the booth

In addition to the booth activities, Viking hosted a series of technical and application-focused seminars throughout the exhibition. A total of five seminars were held, combining presentations, live demonstrations, as well as contributions from external speakers. The objective was to provide practical insights into real-world applications, regulatory developments, and technology trends to help attendees identify the right solutions for their specific needs.

Industrial fire protection for hazardous areas

An overview of fire detection in hazardous environments, covering area classification, intrinsically safe versus explosion-proof equipment, and the main detection technologies. The session highlighted the UniVario flame detector range, including the upcoming FMX5000 IR Ex, and its application in industrial settings.

SFFF foam systems: key considerations

A focused session on the transition from fluorinated foams to SFFF alternatives, addressing regulatory drivers, regional market trends, and the practical challenges of conversion projects.

Land-based water mist standards

An introduction to water mist systems compared to traditional sprinklers, with an overview of the main approval frameworks (VdS, FM, NFPA) and how performance is assessed through fire testing.

Gas systems and complementary technologies

A summary of gaseous fire suppression solutions, including OXEO IG-100 and ULLI, focusing on system design, agent monitoring, and application benefits.
