    We are ready to reinforce our sales team in the BeNeLux and are looking for a Sales Engineer.  The sales engineer will be our recognized, trusted technical commercial expert for the BeNeLux market. You will work closely with the sales manager and local technical support and will offer technical support to our business partners with a focus on Features & Benefits to influence purchasing demands. You ensure that our Viking brand is at the forefront of our clients via training to customers, insurers, end-users, consultants and other specifiers of fire protection equipment.

    The Sales Engineer will take part in the execution of our Commercial & Sales strategy that will contribute to the achievement of Vikings sales objectives and to the profitable business growth in your territory.  You will be responsible for the sales of our water-based product portfolio to the fire contractors in the area /customers assigned to you. Your duties include account management, business development as well as networking in the engineering/ building community and supporting local industry related organizations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create demand by building up a network of specifiers, end-users and influencers and work on
    • specification-, and vendor lists tasks
    • Enforce Viking’s local presence by managing and supporting the company’s mission and policies in
    • order to build strong and trustful relationships with customers and other stakeholders (end users,
    • authorities, building/industrial/fire protection lobbies)
    • Provide valuable local market input and work with the central functions (e.g. Customer Service
    • and Product Management) to optimize the sales
    • Continuously improve your regional sales & margin and optimize product mix
    • Provide feedback on local market conditions, trends and requirements to the Sales Manager and
    • central teams
    • Work together with the BeNeLux team to reach the annual sales-, and company targets
    • Define account plans, goals and actions in coordination with the Sales Manager
    • Have a hands on mentality in aligning actions on actual sales numbers and progress 

    Reporting line & travelling:

    You are local in the BeNeLux area and working from home is possible with regular catch-up meetings with the colleagues in the Oldenzaal NL office. The position requires travelling up to 80% of the working time, conducting planned customer meetings and other business meetings within your sales territory.  The Sales Engineer will report to the Local Sales Manager.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Background in fire protection systems or related industries
    • Understanding of the fire contracting business
    • Proven sales skills, experiences and network
    • Experience with a CRM tool & Power BI is a plus

    • You are a good communicator in Dutch, English; French is an advantage
