We are looking to reinforce our team with an experienced Sales Support Engineer specialized in Gas Suppression product line.
The objectives of the role are:
- Provide technical support for gas and detection products to Viking EMEA customers and staff to help local sales teams to reach local annual sales and margin targets
- Continuously work on improvement and optimizing Viking products, in close corporation with Product Managers
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support (including on-site support) to staff, customers and gas and detection products
- Prepare system bills of material from tender documents and specifications to assist local offices in quoting
- Work with local Sales Representatives to identify new and upcoming project opportunities
- Provide key advantages of our products compared to competitor products
- Provide technical submissions and technical documentation to customers
- Work with sales team to promote Viking to new potential customers
- Provide the best technical solutions for customers’ projects
- Organize and provide training and seminars both in-house and at customer locations
- Train and support other LTS and replace in case of need
- Network with specifiers to increase awareness and specification of Viking products
- Promote and co-ordinate Viking’s participation in local trade associations including assisting with their activities
Reporting line & travelling:
The Sales Support Engineer will report to EMEA Gas, Detection & Watermist Team Lead. The position requires travelling across Europe up to 30% of time.
Qualifications and experience:
- You have solid expertise and hands-on experience with gas suppression systems
- You have a background in technical sales or as a project leader within the fire protection or related business
- You have a technical/engineering background, understanding of contracting business; you are able to work effectively with specifiers and contractors
- You have a good knowledge of fire protections rules, especially for gas systems with a focus on VdS/UL/FM
- You have experience designing systems (desirable)
- You are well presented, enthusiastic with the drive to succeed in a competitive but developing market
- You have proven technical skills and experiences
- You are a good communicator in English and local language (additional European languages are a plus)
