    Multiple models and variants to meet customer needs

    Viking UniVario fire detection systems are offered in multiple models designed for specific environments. The range also includes a robust stainless-steel option for Zone 0. Each model is developed to perform reliably under defined operational conditions.

    • Standard UniVario series are suitable for applications without explosion hazards.
    • 3GD series detectors are designed for use in Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust) environments.
    • UniVario series detectors are intrinsically safe and suitable for use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 (gas) as well as Zone 20, Zone 21, and Zone 22 (dust), corresponding to ATEX Categories 2 (gas) and 1,2 (dust).
    • UniVario Ex d detector features an explosion-proof housing and is designed for use in hazardous areas where gas or dust explosion may occur.

    Many variants can function as addressable detectors, with the UniVario Ex series requiring an additional electronic safety barrier.

    The UniVario FMX5000 IR is an extremely robust triple-infrared flame detector equipped with a 3-channel optic test.

    Even in industrial environments with typical disturbance sources, it provides extremely fast flame detection. Hot machine surfaces, direct sunlight, and welding operations are filtered by a dedicated sensor combination and intelligent signal processing, while at the same time even the very small flames of an emerging fire are still identified at an early stage. The detector’s threefold optical test continuously monitors all three sensors as well as the optical window, supporting stable and reliable operation in demanding conditions and with potential gas or dust explosions.

    Ultraviolet Flame Detector (FMX5000 UV)

    The UniVario FMX5000 UV is a flame detector with sensitivity in the ultraviolet range. It reacts to optical radiation and evaluates defined UV wavelengths to identify the presence of open flames. The detector is used in areas where flames may develop rapidly and where early detection is essential.

    Its combination of high sensitivity, reliable performance, and a low risk of false alarms caused by thunderstorms, hot surfaces, or strong solar radiation, make the UniVario FMX5000 UV a reliable choice for demanding environments

    3 x Triple Fast Flame Detector (YMX5000)

    The UniVario YMX5000 is a modular detection system consisting of a control unit and up to three remote sensor units for fast flame detection.

    The system is ideally suited for confined installation conditions in harsh, industrial environments. The sensor units are designed to detect open flames generated during the combustion of carbon-containing materials such as methane, oil products, plastics, and wood. A version for use in explosion-hazardous Zones 1, 2, 20, 21, and 22 is also available, making the UniVario YMX5000 adaptable to a wide range of industrial applications.

    UniVario WMX5000 is a heat detector with stainless steel heat sensor.

    The UniVario WMX5000 is a heat detector equipped with a stainless-steel sensor. It is designed to identify open fires where temperatures rise rapidly, including fires involving highly combustible solids, liquids, and gases. The detector responds immediately to a rapid increase in temperature or when a defined threshold is reached.

    A range of installation options allows the WMX5000 to be used for room monitoring as well as process-related applications. It is designed for demanding industrial environments, including indoor and outdoor areas and locations with potential hazards, making the UniVario WMX5000 suitable for a wide variety of industrial detection tasks.

    High-Temperature Heat Detectors FS up to 850° (WMX5000 FS)

    The UniVario WMX5000 FS heat detector is designed to operate in ambient temperatures from -40°C to 80°C, while its sensor is engineered to withstand temperatures up to 850°C. Its decoupled heat sensor allows flexible and straightforward installation, while a microcontroller continuously monitors performance and analyzes temperature readings.

    The detector’s robust, sealed housing enables use in demanding conditions, including extreme temperature fluctuations, heavy soiling, and aggressive industrial environments. Heat sensors are available in multiple designs, and both the alarm temperature and response behavior can be programmed, making the UniVario WMX5000 FS suitable for a wide range of high-temperature applications.
