Business interruption with impact on various stakeholders is also a risk in this context.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"build-risk-awareness\" class=\"wp-block-group is-style-default has-gray-100-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-242e8ffa wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--48-24);padding-right:25px;padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--108-56);padding-left:25px\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-xx-large-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:32px;font-style:normal;font-weight:600\">Build risk awareness then establish solutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-has-link has-base-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:24px;line-height:1.3\">Owners and operators of crude oil storage facilities have several options to mitigate fire events.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfpa.org\/codes-and-standards\/nfpa-30-standard-development\/30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NFPA 30<\/a><\/strong> (Flammable &amp; Combustible Liquids Code) provides certain guidance; but in addition to codes and standards, owners and operators may want to consider a risk-based approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:0;line-height:1.3\">For example, should they let the fire burn out the stored fuel without any fire-fighting activities at the burning tank or maybe couple this rather passive approach with limited protection measures in which they cool the surrounding infrastructure (tanks, process equipment, etc.) to prevent escalation of the fire event (i.e. to prevent so-called &#8220;domino effects&#8221;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:0;line-height:1.3\">Or, they decide to actively attack the fire, by using fixed and\/or mobile fire protection systems to suppress the fire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"solution-matrix\" class=\"wp-block-group is-style-text-technologies is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-f966dea3 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--48-24);padding-right:25px;padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--48-24);padding-left:25px\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-xx-large-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:32px;font-style:normal;font-weight:600\">Solution matrix for different O&amp;G applications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:24px;line-height:1.3\"><strong>Fixed foam suppression systems<\/strong> typically consist of foam storage tanks, proportioning\/mixing devices and and foam discharge devices. Those, for example, can be located at the top of the tank. At fixed roof tanks, foam chambers and pourers are used. Floating roof tanks make use of rimseal foam makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-font-size\" style=\"margin-bottom:0;line-height:1.3\"><strong>Foam monitors<\/strong> typically protect jetty areas, but they can also be installed to protect other areas such as the tank and bund.
